What They’re Saying

The best osso buco Ever!! Moved to Westport from New York, and hands down the best French restaurant.  I'm surprised more people don't know about it.  A hidden gem...and the flourless chocolate cake is beyond.

Due to the pandemic my husband and I have been ordering a lot of takeout.  Last night we decided to try Bistro Du Soleil, which we didn't realize offered it.  It far surpassed any we have had at any other restaurant.  We started with the chicken empanadas, then the peppered filet with a fantastic dijon cream sauce, and acorn squash baked with maple syrup and brown sugar.  They were out of most of the desserts (we called rather late) so we had the ricotta and pistachio cake. Everything was absolutely delicious!  In fact, we ordered only one dinner and it was more than enough for the two of us.
We'll be ordering from them again, and very soon!

We ordered takeout tonight
It was absolutely amazing.  They were out of 2 items so the owner called me back
I gladly substituted but she threw in a quart of chicken soup and an extraordinary quinoa salad for free
My daughter was thrilled.  My 13 year old then proceeded to gobble up the cauliflower and mushrooms then she dove into my peppered filet mignon.  The desserts were out of this world.
Takeout is usually disappointing,  overcooked, not enough sauce etc.  Not here! We  have already looked at the menu and decided what we will be getting next weekend for my birthday dinner!!!

Best takeout we've had during COVID! Everything we ordered was excellent and the owners are so kind and thoughtful. We can't wait to order from Bistro Du Soleil again!

Tried their 4 course take out dinner last night and was very pleased. We ordered empanadas and crab cakes for appetizers, pork chops and salmon as main courses, mushroom, cauliflower and an extra side of gnocchi. Chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies for dessert.  Everything was great and we have plenty of leftovers for tonight.  They change their menu monthly so we plan on making this a monthly event. Good food, good value!

We ordered out from Bistro du Soliel for the first time and it terrific. The people there were warm and friendly and our dishes were truly excellent. The cos au van and salmon were wonderful. I had the sausages and peppers which was the best. We will indeed be back. A little diamond in Saugatuck.

So delicious, affordable and the kindest people!! We did the 4 course take out dinner for $32 and every dish was so good. Kids loved everything too... especially the desserts! Order from this restaurant! They need and deserve the support!

I'm reluctant to write a review because I want to keep this place to myself.  No other place in Westport has 5-star food, a quaint atmosphere, and is unpretentious.  Rather than jamming in extra tables, they've spread them out so the vibe is relaxed and homely.

Wow what a pleasant surprise this quaint restaurant was. So convenient, right at the train station and the owners are wonderful. Best asparagus soup I've ever had! We also had the rack of lamb and skirt steak - both cooked perfectly and the presentation is beautiful. Highly recommend.

My wife decided to try this place out. We take the train in and out of the city every day but this place is pretty well hidden.
Food was extremely good. I had a this beef vegetable soup which was tremendous. For my main the duck which was very well done.

What an enjoyable dinner from the appetizers to deserts beautifully prepared. Service was excellent the food was wonderfully prepared with skill and care. I will make this place one of our regular places

What a gem of a place! They're yet to receive a liquor license however you can BYOB at no extra charge. The service was spectacular. I had their soup of the day which was asparagus and it was delicious. For appetizers: escargot & foie gras. The escargot were perfectly cooked and seasoned inside their shell. The foie gras was not overpowered by sweet sauces such as other places do (to the detriment of the taste of foie gras). It was elegantly served with some grapes, onions, baguette chips and a sauce which was olive oil, or oil derived from the foie gras itself or maybe a mixture of both. Not sure but the taste of the foie gras was amazingfor dinner: rack of lamb (medium rare) with a side of green beans and asparagus as well as cous cous. . The veggies and cous cous were great. The lamb was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and as tender as tender could be. I'm very impressed. I will definitely be back regularly!
